Proficiency points are one of the most overlooked parts of the whole
organisation. This is unfortunate as to those who take part in the
proficiency award scheme it is the most rewarding. In Moneyrea 20
members gained a badge last year, and some members have reached double
figures, and had their badges awarded at the Annual Conference.
Winning a badge is easy with a little dedication, anyone can do
it. If you take part in enough competitions, even if you do not win,
you don't even need to be placed, just do well enough to win a point.
One point is available for a merit (over 45) or two points for a distinction
(over 75).
The YFCU proficiency award scheme is open to all members. All you
need to do is gain the sufficient points for your age group:
12-14: 6 points from at least 4 events
14-16: 8 points from at least 5 events
16-18: 10 points from at least 6 events
18-21: 12 points from at least 7 events
You can achieve up to 13 badges if you win one every year.
